What happens at a speed dating event?

Speed dating events are designed to be a relaxing and fun event where you can find a potential new love partner, make new friend and have an amazing night out.  At the start of the evening, you will be checked in by your Hostess and provided with a date card.  The date card provided will help you make notes of the people you have dated as the evening progresses.

​

Your Hostess will brief you on the evening before the ladies take their seats.  The ladies remain seated throughout the evening and the guys will rotate around the room at the sound of the bell.  This is where you make a note on your date card of whom you have dated - note their name and badge number.  You can decide if you say yes to see them again, no or tick friends.

 

You will date up to 15 people for 5 minutes each - enough time to decide if you would like to see them again in the future.

There will be an interval halfway through the evening to allow you to top up your drinks at the bar and mingle with the other participants before commencing the second half of the evening.

At the end of the dating, complete your date card and hand this back to your Hostess.  You will receive your result the following day via email.

How Does The Speed Dating Results Work?

​

If you both tick 'yes' this creates a love match and your details will be exchanged.  If you both tick 'friend' then a friend match will be created and your details will be exchanged.  If one ticks 'yes' and the other ticks 'friend' this creates a cross match and details will be exchanged.  If either party ticks 'no' on the date card then no details are exchanged.  Your details are held securely and will not be exchanged with anyone else.

Events are regularly held at Be At One Bar in Birmingham, Piccadilly Arcade, B2 4BJ.  This is a lovely, cosy cocktail bar opposite New Street Train Station, Grand Central (Stephenson Street exit).  We have exclusive use of a separate room at the rear of the bar.  Be At One are specialists in cocktails and their range includes new releases 'Peachy Blinder' 'Golden Goose' and 'Bit of Me' as well as the more familiar Pornstar Martinis, Mojitos, Tom Collins and Strawberry Dakaris - for the menu click here. 

The venue is open until 3.00am  with music so feel free to stay after the event for a dance and continue chatting with your new found friends.

Heidi's Bier Bar is a 1400 capacity venue in the heart of Birmingham's party strip on Broad Street.  Here we have exclusive use of the upstairs bar for speed dating.  Get the party started early with the live band from 5-7pm, followed by speed dating from 7.30 - 10.00pm.  Then join the main room after the speed dating for some table dancing, shots, pizza and 7 pint beer jugs!  A lively venue sure to give you a great night out!

The events are split into demo graphical areas and age groups so you have the best possible chance of a match.  The age groups are a guideline so do not worry if you are just outside the age range - you are most welcome to attend.
